Dr. Miriam Campeas is a north Jersey native and the most recent addition to Advocare, The Modern Woman OBGYN. Dr. Campeas looks forward to serving her community and building lifelong relationships with her patients. She is passionate about all areas of women’s health and is committed to helping her patients achieve their best state of health through all stages of life, from adolescence, childbearing, through menopause and beyond. Her goal is to create an environment where all of her patients feel comfortable and empowered to ask questions and participate in shared decision making so as to receive the best individualized care.
Dr. Campeas attended Rutgers University where she graduated summa cum laude from the School of Arts and Sciences Honors Program with a BA in psychology and political science and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She worked as a project manager at a PTSD research team at Columbia University New York State Psychiatric Institute while simultaneously completing a premedical post-baccalaureate program at Columbia University. She received her medical degree at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She then completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Atlantic Health System in Morristown, NJ where she had extensive exposure to high-risk obstetrics as well as complex gynecological surgeries including laparoscopic and robotic surgeries. Additionally, she was selected to participate in two surgical missions, in Peru and Guatemala, where she provided gynecologic and urogynecologic surgeries to underserved populations in rural areas and learned how to operate in a lower resource setting.
In her free time, Dr. Campeas enjoys exploring New York City, spending time in nature, being with friends and family, spoiling her dog, Ella, and immersing herself in different cultures as she embarks on international travels.
